Income Tax Department Filed Case Against Lalu's Son, Daughter and Wife

The problems of the former Bihar chief minister and the RJD supremo Lalu Prasad and his family are increasing. On Tuesday, the Income Tax Department seized the properties belonging to the people of Lalu's family.

The income tax department attached 12 plots of Lalu's daughter and Rajya Sabha member Misa Bharti and her husband Shailesh Kumar, sister Ragini and Chanda (Lalu's daughters), Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and younger son of RJD Supremo Tejasvi Yadav and former Chief Minister Rabri Yadav.

According to the ANI, the property which is attached to them is worth 175 crores. While the cost of purchase of property in Records is Rs 9.32 crores. According to the TV news channel Aaj Tak, the Income Tax Department also filed a case against Lalu's son-daughter and wife under the benami act.

Earlier, on Monday, action was taken to seize the property of Misa Bharti, her husband and Tejasvi Yadav by the income tax department. Even after the summons were issued twice, action was taken to seize the property due to lack of spot before the investigating agency. The summon was issued by the department on June 6 first. On not being present, the department had again asked Misa Bharti and her husband Shailesh Kumar to issue summons on June 12, but this time they did not even arrive. Earlier, Misa Bharti's chartered accountant Rajesh Agrawal was arrested.
