Protests and rallies were started by local people last week from the dargah in Saura area of Srinagar in Kashmir, India.
Last week on 9 August Friday, there were mass protests in Saura itself. It was attended by thousands, including women and children.
There was still a barricade in every lane and every road in Shaura. At the same time a large number of security personnel were present. Security personnel believed that if he removed the barricade, people would come to the main road on a large scale.
Security personnel believe that if the protesters come to the main road, they will be difficult to handle and law and order will deteriorate.
Talking about this week, compared to last week, hundreds of people gathered after the prayer of today. These included men and women who took out a peaceful rally. The rally roamed the streets and reached the same dargah.
After the rally was over, loudspeakers of the dargah were singing songs that talked about the independence of Kashmir.
Through these loudspeakers, people were being called out of their homes since morning to join the protests. In a way, fear is dissipating and anger is increasing inside people.
During the protest, a protestor said that his rights were being taken away from him.
He said, "Why is our right being taken away from us. We are asking the Government of India to give back our rights to us. We have taken out a peaceful procession but still pellet guns and tear gas shells are left on us. If there is no more, what is there. ''
A female protestor said that by removing Article 370, the Government of India has turned Kashmir into a conflict zone.
She said, "We are protesting against the removal of Article 370. The Modi government has turned Kashmir into a conflict and war zone by doing this. The security personnel are attacking us with pellet guns and tear gas. We Will die for Article 370. ''
"This is the message for Modi that we neither want to live with India nor Pakistan. We want independent Kashmir. Every man has rights and we also have rights. We want independent Kashmir."
