India's Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said at the press conference that free food grains will be given to all migrant laborers for the next two months.
The Finance Minister said that the scheme will also cover those workers who do not come under the ambit of food security law, the benefit of this scheme will also be available to those workers who do not have ration cards.
The Finance Minister said, "A provision of Rs 3500 crore has been made for such eight crore migrant laborers. For the next two months every migrant working family will get five kg of wheat or rice and one kg of gram. It is the responsibility of the state governments to implement it.
"Through One Nation, One Ration Card, workers can take their share of food grains from ration depots wherever they are in any part of the country." This benefit will be available to all the migrant workers who go to other states for employment.
The Finance Minister said that it will be arranged under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to enable the migrant laborers and urban poor to get houses for rent at low cost, the state governments and industrialists will also contribute to it.
Apart from this, the Finance Minister made many more announcements which are as follows.
- NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) has provided assistance of Rs 29,500 crore to rural and cooperative banks. Farmers will be able to take loans from these banks.
- 25 lakh farmers have been given credit cards. Farmers who do not have a card will also get loan. 2.5 crore farmers and livestock farmers will also be given credit cards.
- The Central Government is providing food for three times to the homeless people living in cities at their expense.
- Only 30% of the workers working in unorganized sectors are able to reap the benefits of minimum wages. The same minimum wage will be implemented across the country so that regional disparity is overcome. It will be legalized.
- The workers will be given an appointment letter. Their health checkup will be mandatory once a year and the workers working in dangerous situations will be given attention through social security schemes.
- During the Corona Crisis, 12,000 volunteer groups created more than 30 million masks and 1.2 lakh liters of sanitizer. In the last two months, 7,200 new volunteer groups have been formed to help the urban poor.
- A sum of Rs. 5000 crores is announced for 50 lakh street vendors. With this, every person will get a loan facility of up to Rs 10,000. The government will launch it within a month.

The Finance Minister said that in the last two months, 63 lakh loans for agriculture sector amounting to 86,000 crores were sanctioned. The month of March-April is very important for agriculture and economy, so the government took this decision.
The Finance Minister said, "There has been a lot of discussion of migrant laborers and urban poor these days. The Modi government has given aid of 11 thousand crores to the urban poor. This help has been given through SDRAF (State Disaster Response Fund).
The Finance Minister said, "10,000 crores have been spent to help the migrant workers who have gone back to their states. 40-50% of the returned workers have enrolled to work in MNREGA, which is much higher than in May last year. The daily wages of laborers have been increased from Rs 182 per day to Rs 202 per day. ''
