US to deploy additional warships and fighter jets to Middle East to protect Israel from Iran: Pentagon

The US Defense Ministry Pentagon has said that the US will deploy additional warships and fighter jets to the Middle East to protect Israel from attacks by Iran and its allies.

The region has been tense after the killing of Hamas' top leader Ismail Haniya in Iran and Hezbollah's commander in Lebanon.

The Pentagon has said that missile defense forces have been kept ready.

The Pentagon has said that its commitment to protect Israel is firm.

After the killing of Ismail Haniya, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has vowed to teach Israel a lesson and declared three days of national mourning.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniya was killed in Tehran on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. Iran and its allies in Gaza have blamed Israel for this. Israel has not commented on this.

62-year-old Ismail Haniya was widely considered to be the top leader of Hamas. He played an important role in the ceasefire talks in Gaza.

The news of Ismail Haniya's killing came just hours after Israel claimed to have killed Hezbollah's commander in Lebanon.

The Pentagon has issued a statement saying that this new deployment will increase the security of the US force, increase cooperation in the defense of Israel and ensure that the US is ready to retaliate.

The US also increased the deployment after Iran attacked Israel with missiles and drones in April 2024.

The US, Britain, France, Jordan and Israel claimed to have shot down nearly 300 Iranian drones.

The US deployment to protect Israel from attacks by Iran and its allies proves that Israel is unable to defend its own existence. Israel's existence in the Middle East is sustained only as long as it has the military, technical and economic support of the US and Western countries.
