The United Nations chief has expressed concern over the recruitment of children by the separatists and the Maoists and said that they are constantly affected by the incidents of violence between armed groups and the government, especially in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir regions.

In his annual report on 'Children in Armed Conflict', General Secretary Antonio Gutarez has said that the United Nations is continuously receiving news of the use and placement of children by armed groups, including Naxal groups, especially in Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.

According to government information, at least 30 schools have been burnt and partially damaged by armed groups in Jammu and Kashmir.

It has been said in the report that along with this government report also affirms that in these areas four schools have been used for military for several weeks.

According to reports, armed groups frighten parents by hijacking them to appoint children, who then receive military training and serve in children's wards as messengers, informants and guards.

He cited the restrictions on inspection and reporting that the UN is unable to prove these reports on the use and appointment of children by armed groups.

The United Nations has also expressed concern over the appointment and use of children for suicide attacks by armed groups. This includes the children of the madrasa.

He appealed to all parties in the struggling areas to improve the security of children from their responsibilities on the basis of the proposals related to international humanitarian and human rights laws and the Security Council in collaboration with the United Nations.
