In the troubled Egyptian northern Sinai, the terrorists attacked a mosque on Friday during Juma prayers, killing at least 235 Namazis and injuring 109 others.

The sources said that this bomb was placed beside the Al Rawda Mosque of the city of Al Aarish which burst during prayers.

According to the news agency MENA, gunmen riding in four vehicles also opened fire on people trying to escape from the spot. According to 'Ahraam online', at least 235 Namazis were killed and 109 others were injured.

The mosque has also suffered significant damage in the blasts. Egyptian Health Ministry spokesman Khalid Mujahid described this incident as a 'terrorist attack'.

It has been said in a report that it seems that the people targeted have been supporters of the security forces.

Local people say that in this mosque, people who followed Sufi views used to come. About 50 ambulances were sent to the spot to take the injured to the hospital. No organization has taken responsibility for this attack so far.

The Egyptian government has announced a three-day national mourning. President Abdul Fatah al-Sisi will hold an emergency meeting with officials to discuss the incident.

There have been several violent attacks since the January Revolution of 2011 in northern Sinai, Egypt. President Husni Mubarak's rule went away from the revolution in January 2011.

After the ouster of Mohammad Morsi from the presidency in 2013, the attackers targeted the police and the army in northern Sinai. More than 700 security personnel have been killed since then.

Army has started military operations in the area, arrested suspects and demolished the houses of terrorists. There are many terrorist attacks in Egypt this year.

On May 26, at least two people were killed and 25 others were injured in gunfire on the bus carrying Christian community in the central area of Egypt. In Alexandria and Tanta, there were two suicidal attacks on April 9, which killed 46 people after targeting the churches.
