Imran Khan has also jumped into controversy over Navjot Singh Sidhu, who came to politics from cricket, went to Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan's swearing-in ceremony. Pakistan's PM Imran Khan, taking the side of Sidhu, said he would be an ambassador of peace.
Imran Khan thanked Sidhu for his involvement in the swearing-in ceremony. Pak PM said that Sidhu had come here as an apostle of peace and he got great love and affection from the people of Pakistan too.
Imran Khan tweeted that the people of India who are targeting Siddhu are working to create obstacles in the path of peace between the two countries. Our people (both countries) can not progress without peace.
In his next tweet, Imran Khan said that India and Pakistan should resolve other issues including Kashmir only through negotiations. The best way to reduce poverty and to bring the people of the subcontinent on the path of progress is to start a dialogue and start a trade between the two countries.
Indeed, this remark of Imran Khan came after the controversy after the Congress leader and Punjab's minister Sidhu embraced the army chief of Pakistan. After catching up the matter, Sidhu had called it a passionate moment and had said that it was not inspired by politics.
Sidhu clarified that his visit was not inspired by any politics. It is noteworthy that during the program before the oath taking ceremony of Imran, he was seen hugging with Pakistan Army Chief General Kamar Javed Bajwa. Sidhu said, "Pakistan Army Chief said that they are trying to open Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, which was a passionate moment."
Earlier, on Sunday, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh said that he is not in favor of Sidhu's move. He also made it clear that Sidhu's decision to join Imran Khan's swearing-in ceremony has nothing to do with his government. Simultaneously, he said that Sidhu, who came to politics from cricket, has gone to Pakistan on his own capacity.
