Opposition leaders protest at Jantar Mantar against the suspension of opposition MPs in India

The 'India' coalition protested on Friday, 22 December 2023, against the suspension of opposition MPs demanding answers from the Modi government on the lapses in Parliament security in India.
During this, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also criticized the media. He said, “They definitely said that I took photographs, but no one talked about what the real issues were. The real issue is unemployment, which was not discussed.
TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee is reportedly seen mimicking Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar in a video outside Parliament. Many MPs from opposition parties are also present on this occasion. Along with this, in the video, Rahul Gandhi is seen recording it on his phone.
He said, "By expelling about 150 (total 146) MPs from the Parliament, the government has silenced 60 per cent of the people of the country (India)... The more hatred the BJP spreads, the more love and brotherhood the parties of the India alliance will spread."
Meanwhile, Mallikarjun Kharge said, "We all have to fight together. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to create fear among us through ED and CBI, but Congress will not be afraid of this."
Randeep Surjewala said, "We will all fight for 140 crore people, parliamentary dignity and the Constitution."
Many big faces of the opposition were present in this protest named 'Save Democracy' organized at Jantar Mantar near the Parliament House in the capital of India, New Delhi.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Sitaram Yechury, Adhir Ranjan Choudhary, Randeep Surjewala were prominent among these leaders.
