North Korea cancels peace talks with South Korea

North Korea has refused further talks with South Korea and has blamed South Korea for this.

North Korea has released its statement in response to South Korean President Moon Jae-in's address.

Earlier, according to the South Korean military, on Friday, North Korea fired two missiles on its eastern seaboard. This is the sixth time North Korea has made such launches within a month.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff of the South Korean Army have reported that both these missiles were fired by North Korea at eight o'clock local time on Thursday which managed to cover a distance of 230 km.

Six days earlier, North Korea had fired two short-range ballistic missiles that fell into the Japan Sea.

The special thing is that North Korea is making this launch, after the meeting of US President Donald Trump and North Korean President Kim Jong Un, during the meeting in June, both agreed to pursue nuclear disarmament.

North Korea is facing international sanctions over allegations of developing nuclear weapons.

On the occasion of independence from Japanese rule, President Moon expects the Korean Peninsula to be unified by 2045.

Korea was divided into two countries after World War II. According to South Korean President Moon, achieving disarmament at this critical juncture was of paramount importance, though talks have been announced after that.

In his televised speech, he said, "We all look forward to a new Korean peninsula that brings peace and prosperity to East Asia as well."

North Korea has said in its statement, "South Korea is continuing its joint military exercise and is talking about peace and peaceful economy in the area. It is not right to do so."

The North Korean spokesman said in his statement, "We are also questioning their thinking process because on the one hand they are talking about talks between North Korea and South Korea while on the other hand destroying our army in 90 days are planning. They are truly shameless men. ''

North Korea has expressed resentment over the military exercise between the US-South Korea, a military exercise still underway. On behalf of North Korea, it was first described as a preparation for war.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un had recently complained about this expensive military exercise in his letter to Donald Trump.

A spokesman for North Korea, who looked into the issue of integration, said the decision to close the talks was made due to South Korea conducting a military exercise.

Analysis of BBC reporter Laura Bicker from Seoul:

The North Korean spokesman described the South Korean president as 'shameless' and called his unification statement of the two countries meaningless.

But the most difficult thing is that the doors of diplomatic negotiations in Seoul have been closed.

By denying talks with South Korea, North Korea has indicated on its part that it will talk directly to the United States. This is highly disrespectful to the South Korean president as he played a key role in the dialogue between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un.

Pyongyang may feel that it cannot get anything from its neighboring country, and cannot get any concession without the approval of the US. In such a situation, now that Kim Jong-un has established direct contact with the White House, it would have been better to contact him directly, recently Trump also called his letter a beautiful letter.

In fact, the US administration has given a way for North Korea to do so. Even after firing six missiles of North Korea, the US has not criticized it even once.

Donald Trump has also publicly described military exercises with South Korea as costly.

However, everything is not finished yet. It can also be a kind of threat. But it is clear that South Korean President Moon is not hosting Kim Jong-un in Seoul very soon.
