No-confidence motion against Modi government: Government is killing India in Manipur - Rahul Gandhi

 09 Aug 2023 ( News Bureau )

The Indian Parliament is discussing the no-confidence motion presented by the opposition against the Modi government.

On the second day of this discussion, on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is speaking in the Lok Sabha.

This is the first time after the restoration of Parliament membership, Rahul Gandhi is speaking inside the Parliament.

Rahul Gandhi said, "When I had taken Adani ji's name in Parliament earlier, the senior leaders of your party had suffered. There is no need to panic today. I am not going to speak on Adani ji today. Rumi had said that the words that come from the heart go to the heart. I will not speak from my mind, I will speak from my heart.

Rahul Gandhi said that we have to eradicate arrogance and hatred. Few days ago I went to Manipur, our PM has not gone till date because Manipur is not Hindustan for him.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi shares memories of Bharat Jodo Yatra in Lok Sabha during the no-confidence motion in Parliament on Wednesday, 9 August 2023.

What else did Rahul Gandhi say?

Today I will definitely shoot one or two shells, but will not say much.

Last year for 130 days I went from one corner of India to another. Not alone, went with many people.

Walked from the sea shore to the snowy hill of Kashmir. The journey is not over yet. We will definitely come to Ladakh too.

Many people asked me during the yatra that Rahul why are you walking, what is your aim. Why are you going from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.

When he used to ask me, initially the answer did not come out of my mouth. Perhaps I didn't even know why I started the journey. I was thinking then that I want to understand India, want to meet people. I want to understand deeply.

I want to understand the thing for which I am ready to go to Modi ji's jails, ready to die, for which I have been abused everyday for 10 years. I wanted to understand the one who held my heart so tightly.

I run 10 kms everyday. So I thought what is the big deal in walking 25 kms. Today I see that at that time there was arrogance in my heart. But India destroys the ego completely. Deletes in a second.

Knee pain started in two to three days. The wolf that had turned out to be an ant. All the ego is gone. But everyday I used to get one or the other power.

The pain in the eyes of the farmer during the journey was in my eyes.

In Parliament, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi attacked the Modi government on Wednesday, 9 August 2023.

Rahul Gandhi said that the government in Manipur is killing India, killing Mother India.

Rahul Gandhi said that the government listens to only two people, Amit Shah and Adani. Ravana was not killed by Rama, it was Ravana's arrogance.

After Rahul Gandhi's speech, BJP leader and Union Minister of India Smriti Irani came to reply to Rahul Gandhi.

Smriti Irani said, “Manipur is an integral part of India, always was, is and will remain part of India. Today the country is seeing that when there was talk of killing Mother India, the Congress was clapping.''

Smriti Irani said, "Till date in the history of India, those who talk about the murder of Bharat Mata do not thump the table while sitting."

In the Lok Sabha, Smriti Irani also raised the issue of Kashmiri Pandits.

Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate tweeted targeting Smriti Irani's speech.

Supriya Shrinate wrote, “Smriti Irani stop your gimmick, shame on you, for 78 days till that horrific video came out – not a word came out of my mouth. This fake outrage and hypocrisy of yours is a new standard of shamelessness. Nobody has time for this drama.''
