US Judge Raymond Dearie will examine files found at former US President Donald Trump's Florida home.

Raymond Dearie will investigate whether documents found at Trump's home can be used in court proceedings.

The name of Judge Raymond Dearie was suggested by Trump's team, to which the US Department of Justice did not file any objection.

Why is there an investigation against Trump?

There is an investigation into the use of intelligence material against the former US President while in office.

Earlier, US Justice Department officials said that documents recovered from Trump's Florida home may contain information that has been hidden from FBI investigators.

Officials also say that after leaving the presidency, Trump should have handed over all these papers to the National Archives because this is what every US president is required to do by law.

But Donald Trump denies any wrongdoing and says that during his tenure he made all these documents public.
