Indian Prime Minister receives Russia's highest civilian honour

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a three-day visit to Russia and Austria, was awarded Russia's highest civilian honour, the 'Order of St. Andrew the Apostle', at the Kremlin.
On this occasion, Modi said, "I am proud to receive Russia's highest civilian award 'Order of St. Andrew the Apostle'. I dedicate it to the Indian citizens."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded Russia's highest civilian award, the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
On this occasion, Modi said, "I express my gratitude to you for honoring Your Excellency and my friend President Putin with Russia's highest award."
"This honor is not only my honor. It is the honor of 140 crore Indians. It is an honor of the centuries-old deep friendship and mutual trust between India and Russia."
In his address, Modi said, "Your Excellency, for the last nearly two and a half decades, under your leadership, relations between India and Russia have strengthened in every direction. And have been achieving new heights every time. The foundation of strategic relations that you laid between the two countries has deepened with the passage of time."
Modi said, "Even today we have made efforts to strengthen mutual cooperation in all areas." We have taken new and important decisions. Our relations are important not only for the two countries but for the entire world.''
Modi said, ''India-Russia partnership becomes even more important in the global environment. We both believe that we should continuously strive for global stability and peace.''
