Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) president Imran Khan took oath in President House as the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan on Saturday. In his general elections in Pakistan, his party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) won the most seats.
According to Dawn News, President Mamnoon Hussain administered oath of office to Imran Khan at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday. Imran has defeated his rival Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Shahbaz Sharif in the race and goes to the Prime Minister's chair.

In his swearing-in ceremony, various dignitaries including caretaker Prime Minister Nasirul Mulk, National Assembly Speaker Asad Kaiser, Army Chief General Kamar Javed Bajwa, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan and Naval Chief Admiral Zafar Mahmud Abbasi were present.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Cabinet Minister and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu was also present at the oath taking ceremony of Imran Khan from India. He met Pakistan's Army Chief Kamar Javed Bajwa at the oath-taking ceremony and received his hug.
Apart from this, made commentator from the cricketer Rameez Raja, Wasim Akram, the newly elected speaker of the Punjab assembly Chaudhary Parvez Elahi, singer Salman Ahmed and Abrarul Haque, actor Javed Shaikh, former Speaker of the National Assembly Fahmida Mirza and senior leaders of PTI were also present.
Just once, during the Pakistan Cricket team victory in the 1992 World Cup, Imran Khan kept captaincy in politics in 1996. Imran of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) defeated Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Shahbaz Sharif and won the top post. Imran got 176 votes, while Shahbaz got only 96 votes. Controversy had already arisen in the opposition alliance for making Shahbaz to become the Prime Ministerial candidate.
The election of the Prime Minister in the 15th National Assembly after the July 25 general election was merely a formality. In fact, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari-led Pakistan People's Party (PPP) was away from voting with its 54 MPs, after which it was impossible to challenge the claim of 65-year-old Imran for the opposition coalition. PML-N has just 82 seats in the House.
PTI had emerged as the largest party in the general election. PTI got 116 seats in the total of 270 seats. In the total 342 seats of the National Assembly, directly elections are held on 272. Apart from this, 60 seats are reserved for women and 10 minorities.
Prior to voting in the National Assembly, PTI had raised the support of nine independents and secured 33 seats reserved for women and minorities. In this way he had a total of 158 members. He also had the support of several small parties, which was likely to get support from 175-176 MPs. After the voting, this possibility came out right.
