On the occasion of 20 years of China's rule in Hong Kong, President Xi Jinping warned on Saturday (July 1) that any attempt to threaten China's sovereignty in Hong Kong in the name of democracy will have to cross the Red Line and its permission can not be given.

In a ceremony organized by Britain on the 20th anniversary of the transfer of Hong Kong to China, Jinping said that Hong Kong had never been so free before as it is today. At the same time, he cautioned against setting up unfair challenges for Beijing rule.

He gave this warning on the occasion of the oath taking ceremony of Beijing-based new chief executive Carrie Lam in Hong Kong. "The threat to national sovereignty and security, threat to the right of the central government and challenge the authority of the fundamental law of the Hong Kong specially administered region, or any attempt to use Hong Kong for infiltrate and damage the main area will be cross the red line and it will not be allowed at all'' said Xi, general secretary of the ruling Communist Party of China.

Lam has been selected by the China Supporter Committee. Right now the decision is being criticized and many people are calling it a deployment of a puppet of China in the city. At the same time some people are angry with Beijing's hard-fought capture of about eight million people's freedom.

This reaction of the Chinese President came after the self-determination of the young workers or demanding full independence for Hong Kong. China's efforts on the demand of young workers have stabilized. He said that Hong Kong has so many more democratic rights as never before.

Lam, before joining Xi, took oath of office under the National Flag of China at the Harbarfront Convention Center in the country. Britain gave control of Hong Kong of Asia's financial center in 1997 to China.
