China's disgraced Sun Zhengcai stands trial for bribery
12 Apr 2018 ( IBTN News Bureau )A former senior official in China who was once a major candidate for a top leadership position has been convicted on charges of corruption.
Sun Zhengcai is one of the most prominent politicians to be charged under President Xi Jinping's anti-corruption crackdown.
Zhengcai is accused of bribery and had been under investigation since last July.
Al Jazeera's Adrian Brown reports from Beijing.
