The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to constitute a committee to implement the recommendations of the Lohda Committee at a special general meeting on Monday. This committee will also look at issues such as 'one state-one vote', age limit of 70 years, increase in the number of members in the selection committee from three to five or more. In the next two-three days, the committee will start its work and will submit its first report within a fortnight.
BCCI Working Secretary Amitabh Chaudhary told reporters after the meeting, "To ensure the implementation of the order of the Supreme Court, the BCCI will constitute a committee. On Tuesday, a committee of five-six members will be constituted, which will oversee the functioning of the Supreme Court order as soon as possible."
The issue of playing bilateral series with Pakistan was also discussed in the special general meeting. On being asked about the progress made in this direction, Chaudhary said that the conditions have remained the same and the possibility of any tour will be possible only after getting government permission.
"We have met the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on the basis of the agreement made by the BCCI in 2014," Chaudhary said. It was also necessary. Our side is still the same. Only after getting government permission will there be a possibility of a visit."
The issue of Suspension of Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) was also discussed. In the meeting of the BCCI on Monday, former president N. Srinivasan also participated.
