Even after two years of notes ban, no payment was made in lieu of working for the bank employees till late at that time. Employees paid money to people from their pockets during notes ban but government did not pay that money to employees and they are still helpless. The National Organization of Bank Workers (NOBW) has described this problem.

Ashwani Rana, vice president of this organization of bank employees, said, "The pain of notes ban has been taken by everyone. Its worst hit is on the bank staff. They worked in banks till late in the night. They did not get the leave and they lost their money, they were filled with their pockets, but the sad fact is that even after two years have passed, they have not been paid for their extra work.''

Rana said, "Not only overtime, the employees' wages agreement should have been implemented from 1 November 2017, it has not yet happened. The Indian Bank Association held a number of meetings for it but proposed only six percent increase, which is very low and shameful.
