INDIA TODAY has stung operation between India and New Zealand before the second ODI in Pune. Reporters who became bookie on Wednesday caught the pitch curator of the Maharashtra Cricket Association, allowing people to tamper with the pitch before the match.
According to INDIA TODAY, their reporters captured the curator Pandurang Selgaonkar while talking to the camera, in which he was saying that the pitch would be made according to the demand.
Reporters asked Salgaokar that the two players want to bounce on the pitch, can it be that Salgaonkar said, 'will be.'
According to the report, Salgaocar also said that 337-340 runs can be scored on this wicket. He gave confidence to the camera that 337 big scores can also be chased on the pitch.
Salgaocar allowed the INDIA TODAY REPORTERS to inspect the pitch which is a violation of the rules of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
After the on-air sting operation, MCA president Abhay Apte said in an interview with INDIA TODAY that he would investigate the matter. They gave assurance of strong action when found guilty.
This pitch of Pune was dubbed this year by the ICC after the India-Australia Test match. In that match, Australia defeated India by 333 runs. The Indian team was all-out in both innings at 105 and 107, respectively, and the match ended in three days.
After the loss in the first one-day match played against New Zealand in Mumbai, the Indian team is facing the danger of losing in the series. The second match will be played at Pune's Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium on Wednesday. If Kiwi wins this match, then India will take an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three one-day series and India will face series defeat in India after years.
