At least nine people were killed and 28 others disappeared after the sinking of a boat carrying tourists in a reservoir of north-western Colombia.
This information is given by a regional officer.
Officials have not yet given the information that how did four decked almirante sink in the L Penol reservoir in Guatapay tourist resort. Here, Columbia and foreign tourists come to roam around the spectacular cruise.
Margarita Moncada, head of the Disaster Prevention Department of the Antioquia Regional Government, said, "We can officially confirm the death of nine people. About 28 people are reported missing."
They said that 170 people were boarding the boat, most of them either saved the other boats, or they escaped themselves.
Fire Department's captain Luis Bernardo Morales said, "It drowned very early. It all happened in minutes."
Army said that two helicopters of Army and one of Air Force were sent for rescue work.
The reservoir is located at a distance of 68 kilometers from the city of Medellín and is one of the main tourist sites of the Antioquia Department.
One victim said that two decks below the boat were full and there were enough children in the boat.
The Antioquia Regional Government tweeted that 24 people who were expelled from the debris are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
President Juan Manuel Santos said on Twitter: "Air forces and rescue services have been deployed to deal with the emergencies." He wrote, "We are ready to provide necessary assistance."
