30 policemen die in Taliban attack in western province of Afghanistan

Afghan officials say that 30 policemen were killed in the Taliban attack in western Farah province. Provincial Council member Dadulla Kani told on Thursday that the Taliban attacked the police post in the Khaki Saafed district on Wednesday night.

Kabul MP Samiullah Samim said that district police commander Abdul Jabar also died in the attack. After the attack Taliban militant escaped with arms and ammunition.

Samim said that 17 Taliban fighters were also killed in counter-attacks. The Taliban are attacking almost every day in Afghanistan from few months since the Afghan force is witnessing a large number of casualties.

The administration does not issue daily casualties, but according to unauthorized estimates, about 45 Afghan police personnel or soldiers are killed daily or injured.
